Advanced Immune & Antiviral Therapy

UVBI + Ozone Therapy for Immune & Antiviral Support

For patients with persistent viral infections, treatment-resistant bacterial conditions, or autoimmune flares, conventional treatment often falls short. Our clinically-grounded UVBI + Ozone protocols offer an evidence-supported approach to immune modulation.

How each works

Two Clinical Modalities, Complementary Mechanisms

UVBI and Ozone target different layers of the immune system — one directly inactivates pathogens, the other enhances cellular metabolism.

UVBI

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation

UVBI therapy involves withdrawing a small amount of blood, passing it through a UV light chamber that inactivates viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens, and then returning the treated blood to your body.

The process also stimulates immune modulation — helping your immune system recognize and respond to chronic infections more effectively. UVBI has been used clinically for decades and has a well-established safety profile.

OZONE

Ozone Therapy (O3)

Medical ozone is a highly reactive form of oxygen that, when introduced therapeutically, increases cellular oxygen utilization, disrupts viral and bacterial cell membranes, and reduces systemic inflammation.

At Unchained Psychiatry, ozone is used as part of a combined protocol for patients with chronic infections, autoimmune flares, and post-viral recovery needs. All ozone treatments are administered by our clinical team.

The Synergy

Why UVBI + Ozone, Together

UV addresses pathogen load while ozone improves cellular oxygen utilization and immune signaling — creating a synergistic effect that neither therapy achieves alone. This is the combined protocol we recommend for most advanced cases.

Indicated conditions

Who Benefits from UVBI + Ozone

Patients with conditions where immune modulation and pathogen reduction are clinically indicated.

Shingles

Acute outbreaks and post-herpetic neuralgia relief.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Autoimmune flare management and inflammation reduction.

Viral Infections

Epstein-Barr, chronic Lyme, and post-viral syndromes.

Bacterial Infections

Treatment-resistant bacterial conditions where antibiotics have fallen short.

Long COVID

Post-viral fatigue, brain fog, and immune dysregulation.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Persistent exhaustion, immune weakness, and slow recovery.

What to Expect During Your Session

Each UVBI + Ozone session is performed in our Gilbert clinic by our trained clinical team. A typical visit follows four stages.

1

Pre-Treatment Assessment

Your clinician reviews your health history and current symptoms to tailor the protocol to your needs.

2

Blood Draw & UV Exposure

A small volume of blood is drawn and passed through the UV light chamber for pathogen inactivation.

3

Ozone Infusion

Medical-grade ozone is introduced to enhance oxygen utilization and amplify the immune response.

4

Blood Return & Recovery

Treated blood is returned to your body. Most patients relax comfortably throughout the entire process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about UVBI + Ozone therapy, safety, and expected results.

Is UVBI safe?
Yes. UVBI has been used clinically since the 1940s and has a well-established safety profile. The procedure is performed by our trained medical staff using sterile, single-use equipment.
How many sessions do I need for shingles?
For acute shingles, many patients notice improvement within 3–5 sessions. For post-herpetic neuralgia (chronic nerve pain after shingles), a longer course of 8–10 sessions may be recommended.
Can UVBI + Ozone be combined with other IV treatments?
In many cases, yes. UVBI and ozone therapy can be combined with other IV protocols such as NAD+ or high-dose vitamin C. Your clinician will review your full treatment plan to ensure compatibility.
What does a session feel like?
Most patients describe the experience as relaxing. You will feel a brief pinch from the initial blood draw, similar to a standard IV. During treatment, you can read, use your phone, or rest.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
No. Most patients return to their normal activities immediately after the session. We recommend staying well-hydrated on the day of your treatment. Some patients may experience mild fatigue.
Who should not have UVBI or Ozone therapy?
Patients with G6PD deficiency, active hyperthyroidism, or those who are pregnant are generally not candidates for ozone therapy. Your clinician will perform a thorough evaluation before recommending this treatment.
